GYM BICE
Gym Bice graduated from
Andrews High School in 1989.
In basketball, Gym was an All-State
selection in 1988 and in 1989. He led the Mustangs to an appearance in the 1989 4-A State Basketball Tournament. Gym holds school records for career scoring, assists, and steals.
In golf, Gym was a member of the 1987 4-A State Championship Team. He earned All-State honors in 1987 and 1988.
He also received All-State academic honors while at AHS.
Gym attended the University of Texas at El Paso. In 1991, he helped lead the Minor basketball team to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
In 1993, Gym graduated from UTEP, where he received academic All-American honors.
Gym Bice died in an electrocution accident in May 1996. That spring he had applied and had been accepted into law school.
The Gym Bice Classic is named in his honor.
