ANDREWS, Texas – The Andrews Mustangs Swimming and Diving teams have qualified for the first-ever UIL 4A & Under State Championships after sweeping the Region I-4A team Championships this weekend.
AHS will have a student athlete competing in 22 of the 24 events at the state meet after 15 individuals and 5 relay teams earned automatic qualifier spots. The Mustangs added 12 individuals and a relay to the total number of qualifiers via call ups.
The Lady Mustangs won the regional title with a 113-point lead, while the Mustangs outscored the second place team by 248 points.

The Mustangs and Lady Mustangs will travel to San Antonio on Feb. 9-10 for the inaugural UIL 4A & Under State Swimming & Diving Championships. Swimming prelims will begin Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by the diving prelims at 2 p.m.
